Representatives of TIF, together with cooperative companies, and other entities linked to the Social Economy model attended this Thursday the first class of the subject Social Economy and Cooperativism of Navarra, taught by the Liceo Monjardín. About twenty students will develop social and business skills based on cooperation, while receiving training from Navarrese companies and experts in the field.
Social Economy companies and educational institutions representing the cooperative and solidarity model in the region accompanied the twenty students of the fourth year of ESO of Liceo Monjardín who attended the first day of the subject Social Economy and Cooperativism in Navarra. .
According to ANEL, Navarre is the first community “at the state level” to bring the Social Economy closer to secondary education. “We are once again a benchmark and we are leading the way for those who follow us, as when our region was the only one in Europe to include our model in its Smart Specialization Strategy. The classroom is something consubstantial to us, as shown by the fact that more than a thousand students of high school and Vocational Training in Navarra have participated this year in EducaKoop, our training program in cooperativism, which expects to reach 5,000 young people trained in the next three years,” said the HR director of TIF and president of ANEL, Ignacio Ugalde.
These statements were made during a meeting attended by TIF and other Social Economy companies such as Laboral Kutxa, Ausolan, Mapsa, Embega, Eroski, Nafarco, SIG Coop, A tu lado or Eseki. Also noteworthy was the attendance in the educational field of members of several educational centers such as, for example, the Cuatrovientos Institute and the Dean’s Office of Legal Sciences of the Public University of Navarra (UPNA).
Edgar Andueza, director of Liceo Monjardín, pointed out that the students are “the main protagonist because their interest in learning about the business world has led them to choose this subject”. In this sense, he expressed his satisfaction because, from his point of view, with this type of training projects “the seeds of cooperativism are being instilled”. “Everything that serves to advance the concept and values of this model will be important”, he reflected. Next, the president of Tafalla Iron Foundry, Lucas Álvarez, presented the innovative experience that the company has developed in collaboration with the Polytechnic Center (CIP) of Tafalla.
