TAFALLA IRON FOUNDRY S. COOP. has taken another major step in its sustainability and continuous improvement strategy by obtaining the ISO 50001:2018 certification—an internationally recognized standard for Energy Management Systems—applicable to the production and transformation of ferrous metals.

The audit, conducted by Bureau Veritas, confirmed that TIF meets the demanding requirements of the standard, which focuses on optimizing energy use, reducing operational costs, and lowering environmental emissions. The certification was officially granted on June 26, 2025, and will remain valid through 2028 .

“This certification reinforces our commitment to a more efficient, responsible industry aligned with Europe’s decarbonization goals,” stated representatives from the Navarre-based cooperative.

The system’s implementation includes continuous monitoring, the identification of improvement opportunities, and the training of staff—fully aligned with TIF’s mission to lead a sustainable production model that respects both the environment and its value chain.

With this new accreditation, TIF strengthens its position as a benchmark for industrial sustainability, adding energy efficiency to its already recognized efforts in workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship.
